Denton Spring Water Co. is one of the first bottled water delivery companies using Prism Visual Software. As Prism has grown, so have we. The product is reliable and does everything that the developers say it does. I have been pleasantly impressed through the years at the willingness to customize the program and to accommodate nuances that our company requested. We deliver baked goods and give full credit for expired items to our customers. One of the main problems for us was to accurately track the credits our delivery guys give to our customers due to “stales” or other unsold goods. Without Prism’s software we had only access to credit data by invoice. This limitation created many problems and even mistakes because we could not select specific items. Thanks to Prism’s software solution, this problem is of the past. Now our distributors easily enter any credits by item on their handheld computers. The data provides “stales” as a percentage of item sales and calculates precisely how many items need to be put on the shelf. Predictably, Prism’s software has tremendously improved our estimates about the shelf space needed and the profitability of each item on the shelf. The precise data gathered by Prism’s software also helps us in our customer relationships. For instance, recently we met with the senior management of our largest chain customer. We showed them the “stale” rate by item and by store of the previous quarter. They were very impressed. Because of the data, our customer reduced the shelf volume of some items, deleted others, and increased those that sold well. In short, Prism’s software is a win-win for our customers and us. Instead of spending time with complaints about empty shelves or shelves that don’t sell, we talk about how to get more popular products on the shelves and how to systematically increase our sales. Thanks to Prism’s routing desktop solution, ServQuest, and handheld software, MiniMate, we are always organized, precise, and on top of our baked goods with the least amount of stales.
